Surroundings - Ribagorza

La Puebla de Castro is one of the many starting points for walking and cycling. The smaller hiking routes, like the PR 73, 74 and 75 run through La Puebla de Castro. Nearby the major hiking routes, such as the GR1 and GR18 can also be found. On the map all the hiking routes in the Ribagorza are depicted and there are much more possibilities in the adjacent areas Somontano and Sobrarbe. We have itineraries of a lot of hiking routes, with an explanation of all the signs that mark the route. Many of the tracks pass through interesting areas, Romanesque churches, abandoned villages, impressive gorges or splendid views. It's very probable that you see birds of prey or mountain goats.

National parks

Hiking in a national park is also an option. The Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monteperdido is a 60 km drive away and offers a lot of possibilities for day trips and cabin (refugios) trips. The tranquility, nature and impressive vistas invite you to put on your hiking shoes and be on your way. The Pyrenees at their best!
The Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guara is a promontory from the Pyrenees. It is composed of limestone mountains and narrow gorges. You can stumble across al lot off birds of prey and it is the place for canyoning.
